382021-02-09T02:51:02 <bioverse> I have a nano ledger s with some bitcoin. I have the 24 words and wallet in a safe place. I went to https://iancoleman.io/bip39/ using a Ubuntu live from USB. I put the 24 mnemonic words and could not find any bitcoin address ever used. I freaked. I thought. Oh my god! I ordered a second brand new nano ledger s. Put the 24 words, using ledger live in a brand new laptop and my coins were there in the brand new ledger nano s. I am safe. But I have

1712021-02-09T08:36:05 <Kiminuo> True. Still it very annoying to fix formatting issues. It's better to spend time on something more productive than moving braces around (if there is no automated tool to fix formatting).

3432021-02-09T15:04:14 <gleb> Generally speaking, I think at this point we need couple people making high-level *full* code review til the end, to make semi-code-semi-approach ACKs.
3442021-02-09T15:04:39 <amiti> hi
3452021-02-09T15:04:39 <gleb> The next step would be to split the PR into 5 or so parts and merge one by one, but I think we better have a little bit of that high-level check first.

3502021-02-09T15:06:09 <gleb> So yeah, asking people to spend a couple hours looking at the entire PR without going into details. That would be very useful.

3522021-02-09T15:06:25 <ariard> gleb: do you want to open an issue as an easy-endpoint to track the ongoing review effort around erlay?
3532021-02-09T15:06:26 <sipa> gleb, jnewbery: did you see i addressed some of your comments in https://github.com/sipa/minisketch/pull/28 ?
3542021-02-09T15:06:27 <jnewbery> gleb: I think an easy win would be to split the minisketch tree into its own PR.
3552021-02-09T15:06:44 <jnewbery> sipa: I did see that. Thank you. I mean to go back and look again
3562021-02-09T15:07:01 <gleb> jnewbery: yes, after we resolve those comments in the minisketch repo
3572021-02-09T15:07:35 <gleb> ariard: there's nothing to track before we start splitting?
3582021-02-09T15:08:18 <jnewbery> gleb: you mean the comments on pull/28 or something else? I don't think those should be blocking
3592021-02-09T15:08:18 <ariard> gleb: as soon as you start to split, I'm just worried about how GH handle PR with hundreds of comments
3602021-02-09T15:08:38 <michaelfolkson> I'll probably spend tomorrow looking at Erlay before the PR review club (on UK time so review club is evening for me). Will be on the bitcoin-core-pr-reviews channel trying to avoid the questions set for the review club session
3612021-02-09T15:08:41 <gleb> jnewbery: yeah, pull/28. I thought we merge that to minisketch, and then I create a PR to core.
3622021-02-09T15:09:11 <jnewbery> sounds good. I'll try to go back and make sure mine are resolved
3632021-02-09T15:09:14 <gleb> ariard: Not sure how issue tracking progress would help handling comments?

3662021-02-09T15:09:40 <sipa> i'm not sure the erlay PR lends itself well for splitting it up; there may be preparatory changes like refactoring the existing code, or adding minisketch perhaps... but beyond that, what would you split it into?
3672021-02-09T15:09:41 <jnewbery> sipa: how much review has minisketch had already?

3702021-02-09T15:10:48 <gleb> sipa: For me the only reason to split is to ease the review. Same we did for big PRs like twice already. It doesn't make much sense logically to have those commits separate one from another, yeah.

5932021-02-09T19:41:53 <prayank> wumpus: I think we were discussing about positives of Bitcoin Stackexchange few days back. Sad to see one of the moderators mentioning specific altcoins in answers when it could have been avoided. One of the altcoin mentioned in this answer has few people associated with it who spread misinformation about Bitcoin. And we have people with good reputation making these altcoins sound legit by mentioning in the answers.
